Black Cat Bicycles at NAHBS 2011

The 2011 North American Handmade Bicycle Show in Austin included some true standout bikes. One of my favorites at NAHBS this year was the Chug-a-Lug by Black Cat Bicycles. This was one of those bikes that you just couldn’t walk past without stopping to take a closer look. First the simplicity and the curves. Then the fillet brazing and the lugs. The rear dropouts, the seat tube angle, the paint. Wow, that paint! All this before finding out that those lugs are part lug, part fillet in construction.  A beautiful bike.

  • Hello,
I’ve seen a very beautiful bike you presented at NAHBS 2011, the Full blown touring.
I’d like to get more informations about its components, to know the material of the frame, if lights can be added, the possible sizes…
Have you dealers in France ? What about the price ?
Will you come to Paris for the next Bike Salon organized in october ?
    Looking forward, yours, Philippe

    • Hello Philippe!
Todd Ingermanson’s Black Cat Bicycles are beautiful aren’t they? I’m looking forward to seeing more of his work at the 2012 NAHBS in Sacramento. Todd recently finished another bike for someone else in France. Perhaps yours could be next! Check out Todd’s website at and look for the email address on the front page in order to contact him directly.
